When translating original subtitles into target language subtitles, the system connects to a translation API service. If the translation fails, it retries up to 2 times before reporting an error.

Currently, 11 translation channels are supported, but almost none are free and directly usable

1. Some offer free trials but have frequency and character limits (e.g., Baidu Translate, Tencent Translate). When these limits are reached, errors occur and the service becomes unavailable.

2. Require VPN access for free use, such as Google Translate and occasionally unstable Microsoft Translate. Without a proxy or with an unstable connection, connection failures and errors will occur.

3. DeepLX, which uses DeepL for free, is deployed locally but often results in IP bans after a few uses, causing errors.

4. For DeepL paid version, ensure the authorization key is correct; otherwise, authorization errors will occur.

5. Using the official ChatGPT API: Free users are limited to 3 requests per minute; exceeding this causes errors. Non-paying users should avoid the official ChatGPT API as it's unusable. Even paid accounts require VPN access.

6. Using third-party ChatGPT API proxies: Some third-party API addresses may be blocked, and without a proxy, connections fail, leading to errors.

7. Models like Kimi and Qwen offer fully OpenAI-compatible interfaces and can be used as third-party ChatGPT APIs. Simply enter the relevant API address and secret key in the ChatGPT API settings.

In summary, each translation channel has requirements related to proxies, APIs, and keys. If these are not met, errors will occur.

If errors occur, carefully check the API address, authorization key, proxy settings, etc., based on the translation channel you are using.

Finally, to help beginners get started quickly and avoid issues with translation channels, version 1.40 introduced the "FreeGoogle" translation channel. It requires no proxy or configuration—just select it to use.

If you are not a beginner, please avoid using this channel as it has request limits; exceeding them will cause errors. Leave the requests available for beginners. This channel essentially uses a reverse proxy of Google Translate.
